This dangerous invasive plant contains furanocoumarins in its sap. If a cat gets the sap on its skin or fur and is then exposed to sunlight, it can cause severe chemical burns, painful blisters, and permanent scarring.

Keep cats far away from this plant. If you suspect contact with the sap, wash the affected area immediately with soap and water and keep the cat out of the sun for at least 48 hours. Contact a vet, as the burns can be severe and may require medical treatment.
